This is your party

the music should reflect that

Together, we can build the perfect DJ set for you and your guests.

Approach

We’ll talk music and parties and dig into what you want to hear, and what you don’t. Favourite tracks, artists or DJs that you love, music from memorable gigs or maybe big tunes from your clubbing or uni days. This will give us the foundations of the playlist.

On the night of the party, that playlist will be the jumping-off point. Then we go with the flow in whichever directions the crowd are feeling. Weaving together the requests and my record collection based on what we’ve chatted about.

The perfect pop of soul/Motown, funk and disco often work as a great foundation and are really inclusive for all generations. Then maybe some house music or classic dance tracks, indie bangers, RnB, hip-hop, reggae/ska/2-tone and rock and pop classics from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s or more recent tunes. If it’s the right bunch of people, a bit of drum n bass, garage or other dance genres can work an absolute treat.

This is just one approach. I’ll sometimes do a long specialist set of one or several genres. Every gig is different and bespoke for that event, couple or clients. I’ve done bhangra weddings mixed with hip hop, drum and bass first dances, full-on house and techno festival sets as well as whole nights of well known party classics (without descending into cheese :).

Let me know what you would like from your reception or party and we can put it together!

  • Graeme made the whole process a dream. He understood the music tastes of all the people there & instinctively knew what to play and when.
